1. In lab this week we learned about the NGSS and how it can be beneficial as a classroom teacher. We also learned what this class is going to focus on as we move week to week. Prior to our first day I was not exactly sure what to expect but it was nice to see our syllabus and go through what the semester is going to look like.
2. From our first lab, the most beneficial piece of information that I found most useful for my future as an educator was learning about the NGSS.I believe I could use the NGSS in the future to help make lesson plans for my class as well as using it to guide my science instruction in the right direction.
3. Some remaining questions I have about the course would be if we are going to focus on more difficult science topics such as chemistry, biology, and physics, or if we will dive deeper into what we learned at the elementary level. Another question I had was if we were going to be doing hand on experiments this semester because that is something I really enjoy participating in!
Dream classroom art work
Hey James! I would have to agree that before attending lab this week I wasn't sure what to expect, but after I am feeling excited for what is to come this semester! I am also excited to learn more about NGSS and how we can apply it to out future teaching. Thanks for sharing and have a great semester!
ReplyDeleteHi James! I also feel that the NGSS is a great piece of information that will help when we start teaching in the future. I think it's a great way to make sure we are providing the students with lots of hands on activities and experiments. I am also wanting to do some hands on experiments in this class to get some inspiration for activities to do in my future classroom!
