Blog Post Week #3
1. This week I learned about life cycles during our lab. We learned about specific living things that go through a complete metamorphosis, and living things that don't go through complete metamorphosis. There are three stages to an incomplete metamorphosis which include, eggs, nymph, and adult, while a complete metamorphosis has four stages which include, eggs, larva, pupa, and adult. We also learned that butterflies have complete metamorphosis.
2. Something I can apply to my future teaching would be the idea of using play-doh to create the metamorphosis stages. I found this to be super helpful as it kept me engaged because playing with play-doh is enjoyable. I want to do this in the future because I believe it brings the fun out in science. Sometimes students can get bored of learning the same way which makes new activities that much more exciting.
3. A remaining question I had about metamorphosis was if it is only insects that go through metamorphosis? Or do other living creatures as well?
